Citizen CT-S801 and Linerless Labels: Which Roll to Choose?

The Citizen CT-S801 is a thermal point-of-sale printer designed for receipts and labels at the point of sale, with top output. It supports linerless labels, which are adhesive labels without a silicone backing liner.

Why switch to linerless on the Citizen CT-S801

At the counter, linerless labels work as both receipts and labels: the same roll prints the order, sticks it to the bag or container, and seals the packaging. With no silicone backing liner, there is nothing to throw away, and the roll lasts longer for the same diameter.

Which linerless rolls to choose

The most commonly used TSi rolls for the Citizen CT-S801 are 40 x 80 x 25 mm (repositionable), 58 x 40 x 19 mm (repositionable) and 80 x 80 x 25 mm (repositionable). The full list, including supported widths, diameters, and core sizes, appears further down in this article and in our compatibility tool, already filtered for this model.

To choose, start with the width you need, then select the largest supported diameter to reduce how often you need to reload.

Which adhesive for which use

• Removable: peels off and reapplies cleanly, ideal for delivery bags and reusable containers.
• Permanent: durable adhesion for traceability, pricing, and logistics.
• Extra-strong: maintains its grip on cold, damp, or difficult surfaces.

The adhesives actually available for the Citizen CT-S801 are listed in the compatibility sheet below.
